Generation TKD 2016 Christmas Party

Carla Bayot

As we come to a close on 2016, Generation TKD celebrated the last party of the year with a resounding blast.  Formalized in the reception dining room at Tarragon Restaurant in Sunnyvale, Generation TKD families and students dressed to the nines.  Complete with tuxedos, suits, heels, formal dresses and buffed up shoes, everyone showed up in their best behaviors and ready to party.  Quite a departure from their rowdy selves during tournaments and heated practices.  Master Chino, Master Cruz and their brood were all alight with profound pride of what they created before them.

The Generation TKD Christmas Party created an atmosphere where everyone kicked off their fighting gears and faces, and enjoyed the yuletide festivities.  Students reveled in their nice outfits, but that did not stop them from being kids as they took over the dance floor.  During the school year, parents are usually off dropping kids to their after school activities, cooking quick family dinners, or trying to meet work deadlines.  In quite a contrast at the party, parents were able to just mingle with other parents, caught up on Christmas plans with each other, toasted drinks to a great year and broke bread together on what the upcoming year is to bring.

Master Chino stood agaze on the side and said, “I love this time of year.  It’s a time for families and friends, and this is what it’s all about.  I do what I do because in the end it really comes down to what we love best — the kids.”  He continued, “I can’t wait for 2017.  It’s going to be even bigger.  More things to look forward to and be proud of.  I just can’t wait to take everyone with me!”  His persona is Generation TKD.  His prideful hope was to help take all the kids to fulfill their dreams.

Yesterday, the entire competition class presented Master Chino with a “timeless piece” to thank him for all that he’s invested in them.  The children and their families stood aside as Master Chino looked upon his gift.  He reflected, “2016 wasn’t scots free from any of the usual emotional roller coaster rides service oriented businesses receive, but it truly was the year of growth emotionally, spiritually and professionally.”  He believes in the positive feedback life has to offer.  He concluded, “when you do things in God’s terms, you will receive tenfolds in return.”

Here’s to wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, from Generation TKD families and staff!
